A Girl's Solo Trip. 10 Days in Kyoto, Osaka & Tokyo @$1.2k Nett! (Including AirTickets)
"Okay, so you're finally going to go on a solo trip. Check your email, there's your airticket." I was like "What!? Are you serious?" And yes, it was true. "The Bald Guy" had been pestering me to take a solo trip for a while now. I mean yes, I love travelling. But alone? I wasn't sure how I'd like it. Like most Singaporeans, I had this nagging feeling that it might be boring or dangerous. But with the tickets booked, and with all expenses paid (provided I didn't excceed 900 SG

5 Exotic Travel Destinations For Singaporeans Under $1,500 Nett!!
A couple of weeks ago, I shared a post "8 Exotic Travel Destinations For Singaporeans Under $1000 All In!" It apparently generated quite a bit of response (FB messages and emails). Some people said my writing style was "too in your face", others said those countries were really dangerous to visit (typical Singaporean misconception) But generally, most thought it was an eye opener to know that one could visit Russia under $1,000 comfortably, and they also wouldn't mind visitin

8 Exotic Beach Honeymoon Ideas That AREN'T The Maldives
Now, while "The Girl" and I aren't married yet, we have started talking about it. Since we both enjoy travelling, one of the most natural topics we talk about is, "Where should we go on our Honeymoon?" Being Singaporeans, we have a thing for beautiful beaches. (All we have are either polluted ones or artificial ones) So, here are our list of potential "Beach Honeymoon" destinations we came up with which fit the criteria of our busy Singaporean lives. Below are our guidelines

11 Days Luxury Travel In Africa @2k SGD Nett! (Including Airtickets)
Because most people who read my blog tend to have the impression that i'm a budget traveller (which i'm not), let's all try to agree on one thing first; the "Parameters" of which I consider to be "Luxury Travel". 1. 95% of my meals and tea-breaks were in Restaurants (And I mean "REAL" restaurants by Typical Singaporean Standards) and I had never really had to look at the prices on the menu before I bought anything. 2. NO couchsurfing, NO sleeping under bridges, and any other

Singaporeans Abroad - African Adventure Series (1.1) Marrkech, Morocco - Dizzying souks, smelly tann
I have been to a decent number of countries, (by Singaporean standards) but few have left as lasting an impression on me the way Morocco has. To mark my first time in Africa, I decided to start with the North instead of the South, which everyone usually starts with. This probably ranks among the best travel decisions i've ever made. Awesome doesn't even begin to describe the Moroccan experience. We started our journey from Marrakech (the most touristy part of Morocco), throu

8 Exotic Travel Destinations For Singaporeans Under $1000 All In!!
Would you happen to know at least one person who says how he or she really wants a tattoo, but because of some bullshit reason, their skin is still as clean as a baby's bottom? Well, I know of a nationality of people who always say "yeah, i'd like to go to "this place & that place someday" but because of "fill in the bullshit reason", they end up going to where they (or their friends) have always gone. Ever have a friend that goes to that same city (not country) over and over

Singaporeans Abroad - Exotic Europe Series (3) Bosnia & Herzegovina - Mostar
When Singaporeans talk about Eastern Europe, all they think of is Budapest, Prague, or perhaps Croatia (and they don't even know the capital of Croatia is Zagreb and that the other two are captials, not countries). Instead of these touristy destinations, let me share about a beautiful country that "Most Singaporeans" almost never bother to add into their travel itinerary; Bosnia & Herzegovina. (If Singaporeans know about Bosnia, its probably because of Edin Dzeko, their most

Singaporeans Abroad - Exotic Europe Series (2.2) Bulgaria - Sofia, Rila & The Rest
(Have you read....... Singaporeans Abroad - Exotic Europe Series (2.1) Bulgaria - Plovdiv) After a couple of days in Plovdiv, we arrived back at the captial Sofia. I thought I'd try my luck with the taxi's again. 5 Euros, I was quoted. I told the taxi driver it should cost just 2 Euros. "Have a nice day" he said, and walked off. Guess I have no luck with taxi's in Bulgaria. It's the tram for us. We made our way to "Hostel Mostel", our accomodation in Sofia. It cost us 1 Euro

Singaporeans Abroad - Exotic Europe Series (2.1) Bulgaria - Plovdiv
It was 11pm by the time we arrived in Sofia, the capital Bulgaria after a tiring 9 hour train ride on a dusty train from Bucharest, Romania. (Above) Waiting for our passports at the Bulgarian/Romanian border. Around a 20-30min wait. (Above) Made a friend on the train, Samuel from Washington D.C. We hung out again in Macedonia but somehow we lost each others contact. If you ever see this post Sam, drop us an Email: Agirlandabaldtraveler@gmail.com (Above) View from the train of
